Suzuki Roshi Said

"Sooner or later we may die, and we will go to the same place we go when we sit."

Suzuki Roshi Told Me To Stop My Mind

"During zazen we stop our mind. We do not put any consideration into our sensitivity or thinking. Whatever image comes, we just accept it and let it go. And whatever sound we hear, we let it come in and let it go out. When you do not pay any attention to an outward object, you will find out your true nature."

Suzuki Roshi Said There Is No Fear Of Death

"For religious mind there is no fear of death.  The fear of death exists in the realm of thinking or in the emotional realm.  When you attach to something, for instance,  that is the beginning of fear of death.  When you attach to your body, that is fear of death.  And when you don't know what will become of you, you will become very uneasy.  That is fear of death."

Suzuki Roshi Said That What We Cannot Figure Out Is Valuable.

"So called good and evil are something your small mind created.  For your true nature there is no good or bad. Your true nature is something beyond good or bad, and for that reason it is valuable. It is valuable because you cannot figure out what it is."

Suzuki Roshi Told Me To Go Beyond

"When you are bothered by what you have done, it means you are attached to purity.  This is not a good idea.  Our buddha-nature should be beyond pure or impure. It means just to be aware-just to be aware of your true nature, which is beyond pure or impure."
